18 years have come and gone
For momma they flew by

This downtown apartment sure makes me miss home
and those bills there on the counter
Keep telling me I'm on my own
And just like every Sunday I called momma up last night
And even when it's not, I tell her everything's all right
Before we hung up I said

to tell my baby sister I'll see her in the fall
And tell me-maw that I miss her
Yeah, I should give her a call

Tonight I find myself kneeling by the bed to pray
I haven't done this in a while
So I don't know what to say but

para mamá pasaron volando
pero para mi se hicieron interminables
estabamos cargando ese Chevy
ambas tratando de no llorar

tratando de despedirse
luego tomo mi mano y dijo

Antes de que vayas por la carretera
sera mejor que pares por gasoil
Hay $50 en el cenicero
por si necesitas dinero
aqui tienes mapa y una biblia
si alguna vez te sientes confundida

Este apartamento me hace extrañar casa..
y esas cuentas en el mostrador
no paran de recordarme que estoy sola
y como cada domingo llamo a mamá
y aunque no este, le digo que todo esta bien
Y antes de cortar dije
"Hey mama.. no te olvides:

de decirle a mi hermanita que la vere en otoño
y dile que la extraño
si, deberia llamarla
y asegurarme que el digas a papa que sigo siendo "nena"
Yeah aun me siento como si estoy donde se suponia que este

Esta noche me arrodille alado de la cama para rezar
no lo he hecho hace bastante
asi que no se que decir pero..
