The Painter

I'd like you to meet my last queen,
over there large as life
She's been hanging there for almost a week,
my poor late wife;

What do think of the colour of her skin,
it has the bloom of the rose,
You see she begged me to bring a certain painter in,
and for that picture in her bedroom she would pose;

Well after a while he was driving me mad,
as you could well understand,
Sitting in there, day after day,
with my wife in the palm of his hand...
It was -

"Madam please do this and Madam please do that",
You've never heard such display,
But he didn't mind he was taking his time,
it was me that had to pay,
"Oh Madam I think we should take a walk in the woods,
you understand it's the light",
And did I mind, no, I was so kind when they,
came back in the middle of the night,
and I swear I'll take care of the painter, Oh the painter...

Well as you can see it was hard for me,
but something has to be done,
She only has eyes for him and his lies, and as for me,
not a glance, not a single one;
My orders were severe and she disappeared,
it really was such a shame,
And when they told me she was dead I broke down and said,

El Pintor

Me gusto encontrarte mi última reina,
por allí grande como es la vida
ella ha estado colgando por casi una semana,
mi pobre última esposa;

¿Qué piensas tú del color de su piel?,
es el de un pimpollo de rosa,
ves que ella me rogó que le presente a cierto pintor,
y por aquel cuadro en su dormitorio ella posaría;

Bien después de un rato el me estaba volviendo loco,
y como tú puedes entender bien,
sentando allí, día tras día,
con mi esposa en la palma de su mano...
así fue-

“Señora por favor haga así y Señora por favor haga aquello”,
tú nunca has escuchado semejante despliegue,
pero no le importó tomarse su tiempo,
era yo el que pagaría,
“oh Señora pienso que deberíamos tomar un paseo en el bosque,
usted entiende es por la luz”,
y me hizo pensar, no, yo estaba tan tranquilo cuando ellos,
volvieron en el medio de la noche,
y yo juré que tendría cuidado del pintor, oh el pintor...

Bueno como puedes ver, fue duro para mi,
pero ya estaba hecho,
ella solo tenía ojos para el y sus mentiras, y como para mi,
no había una mirada, ni una sola;
mis órdenes fueron severas y ella desapareció,
fue realmente una vergüenza,
Y cuando ellos me contaron que ella había muerto yo me abatí y dije,
“ fue aquel pintor, fue el, él es el culpable.”

Con su “Señora por favor haga esto y Señora por favor haga aquello”,
tú nunca has escuchado semejante despliegue,
pero no le importó tomarse su tiempo,
era yo el que pagaría,
