Inches from life

There's something wrong inside of us
It's important to discuss
A narrow mind a hardened heart
And this is just the very start

Frustration gets the best of me
So I dont speak coherently
We are are taught to go along
We need to figure out it might be wrong

You oughta know you can be inches from life
And never live at all
You oughta know that our pride is our downfall
There's no need to stand up tall

No one knows what's going on
Even those who cause oppression
Most of which dont realize
Uneasy smiles and blackened eyes

Could it be there's something real
Not always known but you can feel
The presence of an absolute
That our lives cant substutute

Hay algo mal dentro de nosotros
Es importante discutirlo
Una mente estrecha y un corazón endurecido
Y esto es sólo el principio

La frustración saca lo mejor de mí
Así que no hablo coherentemente
Nos enseñan a estar de acuerdo
Tenemos que averiguar lo que podría estar mal

Deberías saber que puedes estar a centímetros de la vida
Y no vivir en absoluto
Deberías saber que nuestro orgullo es nuestra perdición
No hay necesidad de ponerse de pie

Nadie sabe lo que está pasando
Incluso aquellos que causan opresión
La mayor parte de los cuales no se dan cuenta
sonrisas y ojos ennegrecidos

¿Será que hay algo de verdad?
No siempre se sabe pero se siente
La presencia de un absoluto
Que nuestra vida no puede tener sustituto
