I was looking at a photograph,
Taken in a garden long before the war,

There were old men and dogs and little children,

Estuve mirando a una fotografía,
tomada en un jardín mucho antes de la guerra,
fuera en el césped,
había ancianos, perros y niños pequeños,
todos ellos se han ido para siempre;

Y había personas a la orilla del agua,
paradas en el mismo lugar donde yo estoy hoy,
nada ha cambiado, pero tú sabes,
